Garden

The first thing you’ll see when you visit the farm is our garden. Much of our inventory will be in the garden, protected by its 10’ tall deer fence. Our long-term goal for the garden is to provide a welcoming experience to browse our plants, and as a future home for small events and gatherings. We hope it becomes a true oasis of greenery in the East Bend desert – that our customers will enjoy visiting, and we’ll enjoy hosting.

Starts

Every vegetable and herb plant we offer is grown from seed, on-site at the farm.  This process was the spark of our interest in beginning a retail farm.  We love starting plants from seed, and our long-term goal is to provide as much of our overall inventory from seed as nature will allow. Seasonal flowers/cuttings will be available in addition to vegetables and herbs.

Our starts are born in the greenhouse in quality farm-blended potting soil.  We began using our own compost in backyard gardening in 2009, and perfecting our mix of potting soil little by little.

Our focus with plant starts is to provide a locally-sourced, high-quality and lower-priced alternative to the box stores.  The plants are better adapted to our local climate and conditions, and it’s a sustainable way of promoting open-pollination gardening.

Check our BLOG for current plant start inventory, including but not limited to:

  • Jalapeno Peppers

  • Buran Peppers

  • Hot Portugal Peppers

  • Scarlet Nantes Carrot

  • Basil

  • Oregano

  • Thyme
