Seeding Begins!

It’s an exciting time around the farm this week…

The whole family got outside despite the cooler temps to prepare the greenhouse for the 2021 growing season. It may be in the 40’s outside but it was 88 degrees in the greenhouse. We added a seeding table and refreshed the compost area.

Now that we have an organized work space, we dusted off the heating mats, sprouting trays, mixed soil, and potted our first seedlings of the season. We are kicking off the season with:

  • Jalapeno Peppers

  • Buran Peppers

  • Hot Portugal Peppers

  • Aurora Peppers

  • Ancho Peppers

  • Scarlet Nantes Carrot

  • Basil

  • Oregano

  • Thyme

  • Italian Parsley

I don’t know who is more excited to get the ball rolling, Greg and I or the girls. The whole family has been taking turns going to the greenhouse to be the first to see that little green breaking through the dirt.
